Issued to celebrate the history and growth of women’s soccer, this Forever stamp features an original illustration by artist Noah MacMillan. The First Day of Issue Ceremony was held at Exploria Stadium in Orlando, Florida, coinciding with the start of the 2023 SheBelieves Cup.

Women have played soccer since the sport’s earliest days, often overcoming cultural and institutional barriers, including bans in several countries. The United States formed its first international women’s team in 1985 to compete in the Mundialito tournament and went on to win the inaugural FIFA Women’s World Cup in 1991, launching decades of international success.
