In 2019, the U.S. Postal Service celebrated the 50th anniversary of Sesame Street with a vibrant pane of 16 Forever stamps featuring some of the show’s most beloved characters, including Big Bird, Elmo, Cookie Monster, and more.

Designed by USPS art director Derry Noyes, the stamps honor the groundbreaking educational program that has entertained and inspired generations of children. The First Day of Issue ceremony was held in Detroit, Michigan, as part of the Sesame Street Road Trip, a nationwide celebration across 10 cities.
