2017 Global Green Succulent Stamps
Green Succulent Global Forever Stamp
The newest release in the U.S. Postal Service’s series of round Global Forever stamps features a striking green echeveria, a type of succulent prized for its symmetry and beauty.
Global Forever stamps can be used to mail a one-ounce letter to any country where First-Class International Mail service is available, and — like all Forever stamps — they remain valid regardless of future rate changes.
The stamp’s design showcases a photograph of the echeveria, taken by Erika Kirkpatrick, capturing the plant’s natural elegance. Native to the Americas and popular in U.S. ornamental gardens, the echeveria represents both simplicity and resilience. Greg Breeding served as the designer, with William J. Gicker as art director.
This Green Succulent issue marks the sixth entry in the ongoing round Global Forever series, which began on January 28, 2013, with a stamp depicting a view of Earth from space. The unique circular shape and the word “Global” distinguish these stamps as postage for international — rather than domestic — letter mail, combining utility, beauty, and collectibility.
